Thanks for your comments Lisa. During my high school years is when I began venturing outside of my comfort zone as a person who stutters. I believe that my science teacher/advisor realized that I could, in fact, deliver the speech at the graduation ceremony based on other activities in which I was involved. I do not regret delving more into my studies as a child. It was the academic accomplishments from the studying coupled with the popularity associated with it that gave me the confidence to strive to do more. Having someone to believe in you is always important. We never realize how an act of encouragement can affect someone. Hopefully, my story can serve as a source of encouragement and/or motivation for someone else.
