Wow! What a great paper. On many levels. These comments are mostly geared to Tim.To see a 16-year old so eloquently express himself is wonderful to see. Writing should be definitely part of your future. I also find the insights you have found already at 16 are inspiring to read. I am in my forties, and so wish I had the courage and wisdom that you have now when I was your age. Young people who stutter need to understand that they have a right to good therapy, and that the best therapy comes from a holistic approach that includes the baggage and mindset, as well as speech mechanics. Your explanation is great, and your diagram really helps people who are not stutterers see the cyclical nature of stuttering. Tim - if you are not aware, you should check out FRIENDS, the National Association of Young People Who Stutter (www.friendswhostutter.org) You would be such an asset to FRIENDS and a great role model for younger kids and teens. And Katie - bravo for helping a young person feel success instead of failure, which so many of us experience over and over through our lives. Thanks! ~Pam
