Thank you for sharing your story Tim. It's very inspiring. I am a student currently working with a young adult client that stuttered since he was 2 or 3 years old. His parents never seeked therapy for him as a child and he very recently pursued speech therapy on his own. He has physical secondary effects but he claims that he is very well adjusted with his own stuttering, even though he avoids certain situations . In your statement you explain that in order to deal with the exterior part of your stuttering, the emotional and cognition aspects needed to be dealt with first. Can you please provide a concrete example of a therapy session explaining how your speech language pathologist dealt with the three aspects of the model? Thank you.
