Thanks! Personally, one of the most influential things I've learned is that, as a stutterer, if you do not change something, it will not change. If you never work towards improving your speech and your attitude, then it can only ever slide backwards. Which means that, in the short term, there's going to be some pain - confronting fears and deliberately exposing yourself to difficult situations to make them less difficult are never easy - but in the long run, it will mean that you're taking charge of your life and your speech, which is one of the greatest leaps a stutter can take. Obviously, one should start out small - asking an employee at a store for help or ordering for yourself at a restaurant, for instance, and gradually work your way up towards bigger and bolder goals as your comfort zone increases. I'm still in the fledgling stages of this process, personally, but I've already noticed massive improvement. Hope this helps. :)
