Thanks for your feedback. This is a cut/paste from the last thread: Wanda came after discriminatory films such as My Cousin Vinny (lawyer fired for stuttering) and Smoky and the Bandit. Mel Tillis, in his book Stutterin' Boy, tells that he was cast into the films for his stuttering to be a punchline. If he was fluent on a line, the director would yell "Cut!" and they would do a re-take to get the stutter. Wanda seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back. When cinema portrays it OK to torment it can lead society to be prejudice. Discrimination transcends time. I am comfortable saying NEVER MAKE A WANDA TYPE MOVIE AGAIN. I was praising the King's Speech as a great recovery. We need more. Each week I hear kids tell of teasing and bullying. Public perception must change. Cheers.
