Mark, good question. You stated: "They need to understand them rationally, and learn to deal with them as they occur." You nailed it. Right as I entered the clinical field I had a relapse because I felt I had to "be perfectly fluent...as a licensed SLP I can never stutter again." Those projection frames caused me to stutter when returning calls from prospects. Two mothers actually said: "I am not sure how to say this but you are stuttering so much I am not comfortable bringing my child to you." I thanked them for their honesty and referred them to a colleague. So, I had evidence that stuttering could cost me in me profession. HOWEVER, I had to delete those memories and move on. Many athletes have lived under very public scrutiny and rally. One of a thousand examples is Alex Rodriguez. When he went to the Yankees and slumped he was called "K-Rod." The press was all over him, he was booed, and people held up signs. He rallied and has 600 career home runs. PWS must learn to reframe their thinking to unleash the power within. Cheers
