Hello Mr. Mackesey. I’m a graduate student and I was wondering how much social phobia is now attributed to stuttering. I have learned that fear and anxiety are very common, but I have also learned that there are some stutters who do not experience those feelings to the point of avoidance or change in routine because of it. Moreover, some stutterers do not avoid certain situations or words, as they say what they want/how they want to say it because that is who they are, a PWS. Could you explain your personal take on social phobia, and how much you think it contributes to stuttering?
