Ari, have you seen the old black and white footage of Dean Williams in therapy (www.stutteringhelp.org)?? He showed a child to freeze during stutters to feel the physical symptoms. He was a master at developing rapport so that a pws was willing to explore it so intimately. He also acted very curious versus "I know hat you are doing." That curiosity helps the pws discover his symptoms with guidance; and that is very potent. I will ask a patient to teach me how to do a given symptom. They may be confused at first and then lights go off. Cheers,
