Hello Julie, Thank you for your uplifting response and question. Yes it is so strange and dangerous that some of us place so much emphasis and importance towards some very minor and infrequent negative experiences. I tend to use what I call the “Pollyanna Effect”. Corny maybe, but I look for positives in all experiences. For example I may walk into a shop and stutter whilst asking for a cappuccino. I can take this home, be very hard on myself, vow never to ask for a cappuccino again or I can be happy that I got the drink I asked for  . I step back and look at the situation. My aim was to get the cappuccino and I did get the cappuccino. It is all about understanding the situation and looking at the positives. With the significant change in my twenties that was purely a self decision and not driven by anybody else. I think that is important to note. I instigated self change and had the will to drive it. I threw away the excuses of stuttering and not succeeding. Within a short amount of time I was successfully achieving short, mid & long term goals in realistic time frames. I still hit hurdles and hurts but I continued on life’s journey like everyone else.
