Hi Scott - great to hear from you! And doubly great to hear that you joined Toastmasters! Good for you! The first leadership role I took with my club was treasurer too! I did it 3 months after joining - talk about baptism by fire. That was my least favorite role - honestly, I am a people person, not much of a numbers person. Me and Excel don't jive very well. I am flattered that you remember my talk in Cleveland. I believe I had given a speech about having visited London and meeting other people who stutter across the pond and how much fun that had been. I hope you have a great experience in your club and use TM to it's full potential. It's a great way to test your willingness to take risks in a safe environment.
