Thanks for the feedback! I used to prepare a lot, an would write out my whole speech and try to deliver it like that, without making it look like I was reading it. That was hard, because I always felt like I was glued to the script. I am not a very good "page-turner" and if use a written script, I tend to stay behind the podium. Now that I am more comfortable and relaxed, I use notes, or even just key words. I find the that when I, or anyone, speaks on something we know really well, we don't need notes. We know the subject, so just tell it. I might use the whiteboard to write down 3 main points that I want the audience to take away, but that is also my cheat sheet. Same when I use PowerPoint for a planned presentation for work, which last year, I was doing an average of 30 a week some weeks. I just use the outline in my media presentation and ad-lib as I go along. I may deliver the same content 10 times in 10 different ways. The most I prepare these days for any presentation is a once or twice run-through no more than 2-3 days before hand. I never want to be perfect when I speak, like I once wanted to. The audience appreciates when we show our human side they can relate to that. No one is perfect. ~Pam
