Thank you for your comments Bob. I really like the term "Stuckness". We use the term "holding back" to desribe the same "approach avoidance" conflict when we come to speak. I also agree with your comment about breathing and speaking techniques being only a part of the solution. In my experience about 10% which is why I'm much encouraged to see SLPs (at least here in Oz)focusing more and more on the cognitive side of stuttering behaviour. Regards, Geoff
