Hi Paul: Thanks for your comments. All I will say is that the Hollins full breath, as you describe it, is not really an accurate representation of what goes on in speech breathing. I don't see that as a problem since people generally breathe for speech without thinking about it and we don't want folks overthinking what they do when they talk. The imagery provided apparently works for many and that probably is sufficient.
