Hi Voon: Great comments! I often talk about "artifacts of previous therapy" that we have to deal with when we have clients who are older and who have been in therapy before, and your example is an excellent illustration of this idea. If our clients are told to do things and are not sure why they are supposed to do them, or what the expected outcome is, they often end up as secondary behaviors. In many cases taking an unconscious behavior like speech breathing and making a kid aware of it is an ideal way to accomplish this (undesired) outcome. Thanks for your observations! BQ
