I never did confront my father about his comment. As a young boy and teanager, I was rather shy and nonconfronting. Instead I took the silent approach where I would show him by my actions and accomplishments that I could overcome this impediment. In the beginning when I first started teaching there were some rough and embarrassming times. I am proud that I have now given a talk at a college graduation with an audience of about 1,000 people.
