Stacy, its often that the get tired of the "gymnastics" they have to go through to communicate. The may also be tired of others not understanding what their "big deal" is with speaking... both for people who stutter and those who don't. Hiding stuttering takes a lot of effort and energy and creates a great deal of anxiety.. also hidden under the surface.
