Your client's reaction to meeting other PWS is extraordinary, but very common. Understand that seeing others stutter is a mirror in which she projects her own experiences with stuttering. I agree that it would likely be very beneficial for her to meet others who stutter! A perspective that she apparently isn't entertaining about this meeting is that its an opportunity for her to meet some nice people and make some friends who would really understand her. But pushing a client before they are ready may backfire. Perhaps emailing other PWS could be a starting point? I also have some of my clients read the writings of others who stutter as a means of discussing common feelings. Many of these writings are available on the stutteringhomepage.com website! Best of luck.
