I am currently an undergraduate student learning about the many aspects of stuttering. I have learned about covert stuttering in my Fluency Disorders class. However, your article provided me with new and thought-provoking information. The fact that a person who stutters covertly is stuck between a “fluent world” and a “stuttering world” is very intriguing to me. This is an occurrence of stuttering that seems obvious, but I have not realized it until now. I personally think that feelings and attitudes are important aspects to stuttering. A person in this position must feel many confusing emotions and I feel it is important for them to receive help in overcoming these feelings. I really enjoyed reading your article and obtaining a deeper understanding to the challenges people who stutter face on a daily basis.
