I really enjoyed reading through this information. I think this area of stuttering hasn't been exposed as much as others. I've seen the iceberg analogy before but I always like the visual it gives. I think it helps hit home the idea that there is more than meets the eye. Under the more observable features lay a variety of characteristics that need to be addressed as well. I think this paper helps bring awareness to SLPs, professionals, and even the community that stuttering is just about what you see or hear but also includes the things you don't often see or hear. I also thought the visual of people who covert stutter as being in limbo between the fluent world and the stuttering world was really eye opening. This paper was a great reminder that just because people who covert stutter may not exhibit the "typical" stuttering behaviors they still experience the disorder. My question for you, is there a specific tool you use to differentially diagnosis mild stuttering or covert stuttering?
