Yes, I think you are quite correct that there is usually more emotional/cognitive issues to address in developmental stuttering and these need to be addressed. Parkinsonism and stuttering can sometimes be address by addressing a difference balance of drugs. There is a great chapter by Gerry McGuire in Guitar's new textbook "treatment of stuttering" which addresses new pharmacological advances in stuttering. Sometimes addressing the stuttering is secondary to other issues in Parkinsonism that reduce intelligibility even more.
