Carla, attitude is huge! I remember a poster in school that said "10% of life is what happens to you, 90% is your attitude about it". But saying that doesn't make it real. The difficulties of growing up struggling with every word are real, and the attitude that forms around that, for everyone unique person, is valid. A great part of the journey is changing the attitude that surrounds our situation. I think SLP's have a huge part to play in nurturing this. Perhaps that's the hardest part of the job.
