I appreciated your article for it's clear breakdown of others' experiences as well as your own. I feel the stories of the three individuals mentioned as well as your own goals for stutterers were extremely well said. As a current graduate student going for speech-language pathology I wondered in your story with George, how you were able to gain his trust/keep him as a patient after he had previously been 'abandoned' and left unsatisfied by previous clinicians? What are some techniques/ways in which a clinician is able to break that cycle of unsatisfying clinical experiences?
