Hi Kelsey, “Fluency freedom” indeed is a phrase I use in therapy. Together, the client, family, and I define what it means for each individual case. Surely I have my own ideas from personal and professional experience, but those ideas are meaningless unless I see the world through the client’s eyes and understand what his/her aspirations are in communication and in life. How do I do this? Would you refer back to my response to Sarah SJU’s post (Response/Que, October 10, 2011)? Don’t hesitate to follow up if I might address your question more directly. Thanks, David Shapiro
