Hi Emily, I’m glad you enjoyed the paper. You’re asking a good question about how George became motivated to return to college. In response to several of the previous posts, I described how much of the treatment is designed to achieve collaboration, success, and fun. Honestly I believe that these ingredients, and particularly constructing opportunities for George to experience success from the very beginning and throughout, is what stimulated him to return to college and what excelled him to the point that he received awards and recognitions. With that positive foundation, all kinds of personal and professional doors opened for him. That is the role of the clinician, to enable the client to begin to dream of what might have previously seemed unimaginable and to pursue and realize those dreams. Communication freedom is broad and casts a wide net in life. Keep up the good questions. You’re entering a wonderful career. Embrace it, do your BEST, and good luck to you. David Shapiro
