Thank you Lynne for sharing this with us. I really like the idea of letting children choose their own topic and then using a speech tool while they are surveying people. More often than not, I have found that disclosing that they stutter can be quite terrifying (especially when the groundwork on addressing negative emotions and shame has not been established or there is still 'residual' shame). Even so, allowing the client to tell a joke or ask about junk food is a nice pre-cursor before before tackling harder or more emotionally charged surveys such as those which look at stuttering.
