Hi Dr. Silverman, I was particularly drawn to your post about mindfulness, because it is something that I am learning about currently in my fluency class. First off, I wanted to say that I really appreciated the analogue of mindfulness being like a drill bit or a tool to help a person get to the final goal. It gave me a better understanding of what the purpose of this practice is. As a graduate student, I am often bombarded by many different suggestions and techniques to consider for future clients. What I would like to know from you is how you would suggest approaching the idea of using mindfulness with a client from the standpoint of a new clinician? Also, is this something you believe should be offered to all clients or is there a certain type of person you believe responds better the idea of mindfulness?
