[[Dr. Silverman, I agree with what you are saying about the benefits of mindfulness, and how the practice can help manage and cope with many of life's challenges. It is true that when one talks about their experiences with the practice, often they get strange responses from others. No, practicing this is not easy, and I know because I have attempted it many times, and still have not been able to master it! For some reason, everything else in my life seems more important, and that is my excuse. . .]] >>> Hello, Carla. Well, Carla, if you don't mind my saying so, it seems it may be that practicing mindfulness is not as hard for you as for you to believe you deserve to be kind to yourself by putting your needs on your "to do" list. If so, you are like most of us, especially us women, who feel compelled to put others' needs before our own. But those of us who do, like me, eventually learn that we can not give what we do not have, and the most important thing we have to give in any circumstance is our presence. Through the practice of mindfulness, we cultivate a presence that becomes a positive force in any environment. Please consider that. Best wishes, Ellen-Marie Silverman
