[[Hi Dr. Silverman, I was particularly drawn to your post about mindfulness, because it is something that I am learning about currently in my fluency class. First off, I wanted to say that I really appreciated the analogue of mindfulness being like a drill bit or a tool to help a person get to the final goal. It gave me a better understanding of what the purpose of this practice is. As a graduate student, I am often bombarded by many different suggestions and techniques to consider for future clients. What I would like to know from you is how you would suggest approaching the idea of using mindfulness with a client from the standpoint of a new clinician? Also, is this something you believe should be offered to all clients or is there a certain type of person you believe responds better the idea of mindfulness?]] Katie, I think my response to Emily, one or two prior to yours, deals with the issues you raise. Reading through it may hep you better understand the application of mindfulness to stuttering on a very basic level. If, after you read it, you still have questions, please feel free to ask a follow-up or two. But, remember: The Conference ends this coming Saturday, the 22nd. Best, Ellen-Marie Silverman
