I have a 17 year old student who stutters who has received speech therapy since he was 4 years old. Fluency management techniques are learned and used effectively most of the time, however, he struggles greatly with the psychological and social aspects of stuttering. I plan to use this to help him put words to his behaviors and feelings. At this point his outlook is such that he wants to sign himself out of therapy when he turns 18. This may help me reframe his thoughts and feelings and encourage him to hang in there and accept the support being offered. Thank you.
