Yes, I agree. This can help your young adult clients to make choices that lead to avoidance reduction. Being willing to take a risk (cognitive- I will feel shame), tolerate the feelings (affective - I am feeling shame but I planned for it, so that's ok), and reduce avoidance behavior (from desensitization).
