Michelle, I think there are several factors taht come into play. 1) I think that parents do not have time, 2) I think that stuttering is still perceieved in the general community under the medical model (I'll drop off my kid and you fix him....call me when you're done) 3) SLPs feel uncomfortable sharing with others becasue we are not confident in what we do with PWS ourselves 4) SLPs have limited experinces with PWS 5) SLPs have too large of caseloads to have the time to plan out home programs and parent education programs (or we don't know how to do these programs well). I am sure that there are even more reasons for this disconnect, but I hope that we can correct it. Thanks for teh question, John T.
