I think we need to do two things: 1) Change our attitude and philosophy 2) Change their attitude and philosophy In spite of all the homage that we pay to "treating the whole person", I still think that way too many SLPs and parents still believe in teh medical model. "Drop off your kid with us and we'll fix them." We are now realizing that parental involvment is the key to successful academics, successful interventions, etc. We need to change out attitude and philosophy, as well as the attitude and philosophy of successful treatment in society.
