There is always more data to mine from what we have already. I am sure that we will find new trends over the years. I can only speculate on what goes on in the minds of SLPs. However, I do know that the schools are required to provide services if the child needs them, therefore, the caseloads should remain the same. I have heard from some parents and from a few SLPs that an SLP may not feel qualified to treat a teen who stutters. With the excellent outlets for information on stuttering treatment that are available today, this should be less of an issue. Live and on-line resources are abundant these days. When kids need treatment and it is "not provided", an advocate can always find what they need. Organizations like teh NSA, FRIENDS, ISA, and SFA can all help in this regard.
