When I saw the heading of your article, I was hoping there would be discussion about this. I remember back in Grad School when we first started parent-child groups for therapy of stuttering. It really had an impact on my own philosophy regarding treatment. Thank you Tric Zebrowski and Toni Cilek. I agree that helping the parents see beyond the medical model is crucial to moving forward to support our kids who are dealing with the challenges of stuttering. I have and am trying to do my best to keep the parents involved at all levels. It's not just something for the child to "work on." Thanks for bringing this to the forefront of our discussion during this conference.
