I found this survey to be very eye-opening. I wonder why it is that parents have a misconception on how their child's stuttering is really affecting them. What advice do you have for increasing parental involvement, particularly when the child is in the teenage years where the greatest impacts are? As a student in the SLP graduate program, I have little experience with clients who stutter but am interested in the impacts stuttering can have on clients, particularly teens. Do you have any advice for how to handle a stuttering client for the first time? Thank you!
