I was very surprised to see how many parents underestimate the impact of stuttering on their teens' lives in certain aspects (i.e. their perceived impact of stuttering on school performance, on avoidance of speaking situations, and the effect it has on their social and family life). Do you have any ideas or suggestions for how teens and parents can improve communication about the impact stuttering has on their teens' lives? Do you think having parents and children "on the same page" about stuttering can help in therapy?
