That's a challenge for parents because teens may not be inclined to communicate with their parents because, well, they're teens. Clinicians can help parents understand what their kids are going through and help them build their own positive attitudes about stuttering. Again, stuttering support activities, like the NSA and Friends conferences, are a tremendous way to jump-start this process.
