Good question! I think that it depends totally on the children involved, their experience with groups and their willingness to talk about their stuttering. This activity is meant as a guideline and you can adjust it to meet the needs of your kids. Because I don't stutter, I can't put myself in their shoes. But, I can say: "Hmm, if this happened to me, I might..." to get them started. Or turn to one of the kids in the group who is very open and say: "Could you help him/her out? What do you think would be helpful to say?" You raise a great point and the group dynamics and child's personality will drive the process.
