Lisette - I still felt quite a bit of shame, but only when I stuttered. I never minded talking about it or disclosing it. I just didn't like DOING it. But my family was great and I think that went a long way toward my current levels of fluency and also acceptance. Joining the NSA also helped a lot with acceptance, which helped my fluency.
