Hi there! Thanks so much for your comment. As to your question ... Some people seem to accept stuttering the more I talk to them about it. Some don't. These people think, that no matter how much I explain that stuttering is essentially physiological, still think it's about confidence, speaking slower and thinking more carefully about what I want to say before I say it. They try to imagine what stuttering is like based on what happens to them when they get a bit disfluent as normally fluent speakers sometimes do. They may never really get it. That has nothing to do with blindness - just the way not everybody gets stuttering. So people's acceptance of stuttering is a journey, just as mine is. I've become reconciled to the fact that not everybody will get it, and not everybody will be a support to me. I treasure those that are. That's all I can really do. I continue to try to educate those who don't get it, but I know not everybody will accept stuttering. I have to try to be strong enough to still allow myself to stutter even if I know some people think I should be able to stop doing it, I hope that answers your question.
