Interesting question, Venessa, but not one we can answer. The kids at Friends and Family Day come from all over -- we don't necessarily know them or have clinical experience with them. Although some have come to the conference several times, measures a year apart wouldn't mean much, of course. The kids who spoke after the screening had varying degrees of fluency, but they all demonstrated some great self-confidence (there were A LOT of people there, and they used a microphone). I think it would be a great presentation forum for the classroom! And it would make a great little action research project for an enterprising SLP to see if the cartoon presentation improved fluency in their clients' follow-up speaking!
