Anelise, thank you for sharing your research and your attempts to understand further vocal tract dynamics during moments of stuttering. One aspect of your findings that has always interested me is prephonatory activity of the laryngeal area during stuttering. I believe that "the moment of stuttering" begins before we see any overt changes in talking. If this is the case then a comprehensive therapy program must address the activities that take place not only in the vocal tract but also higher in the speech production system. Your research and insightful comments in the article speak to the complexity of understanding stuttering as well as developing treatment strategies that encompass the entire problem. Continued success with your work.
