Hello Beth and Nina. Thank you for a great article. I often talk and discuss about PWS and disability in Australia. I also wrote an ISAD piece on this in 2010 (http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/isad13/papers/meredith13.html I really loved your views and conversation. I find the disability sector, at least in Australi, very interesting. PWS in Australia often distance themselves from "disability". I disagree and think we should get on the badn wagon or at least recognise that we can fit under ours and world disability legislation quite well if and when a need arises. I will share a story. I presented a a national disability conference here about 4 years ago now on a study I was starting concerning PWS at university. The people there were confused at times and even taken aback about how I fitted such a conference. Stuttering a disability I was asked! It was almost like I did not fit because I was not one of at least the big 3 (hearing, sight or mobility impaired). Funny stuff. As said would like to discuss with you both at some stage (g.meredith@ballarat.edu.au). I am also finding through my research that in Australia very few PWS at universities ask for help for various tasks because of their speech based upon the fact that "disability" services offer the assistance.
