This was a very interesting article. I read a similar article right before this and he used the definition of disability from the WHO and everyone who stuttered seemed to fit into that definition. My question is, we always say that labels are not important, but obviously if, say a student wants special help, they would need that "disabled label." Should we, as speech language pathologists attempt to counsel clients to that point where they are ready to own that label of being disabled?
