Hi Katryn. Yes, teens who stutter are in a tough position. They have enough things to be concerned about in life, in their bodies, in relationships in school etc. Social status is so important. You're either in or out. Stuttering isn't really helping... You pretend everything is ok, but on the inside, you wish your could fast forward... As things that seem so normal, so simple, are such hurdles when you stutter. You don't want to talk about it, pretend it's not there, but you also realize noone can help you as they have no clue. So to tell or not to tell... There is so much more to tell, so if you want to learn, do visit your national stuttering association, where you can ask any questions and people would love to explain. Do check out my papers in previous ISAD conferences and I hope we get the time to chat at the world congress for people who stutter next year. :-) www.stuttering2013.com. Keep talking!
