Encouragement would have been great. Commitment over a longer period. I would have loved to have had a therapist to have shown the way, by using voluntary stuttering. I don't believe someone should ask a person to do something without showing the way. Changing the thought pattern long before attempting new techniques. I failed so many times because the shame, guilt and fear of pushing out of my comfort zones would be too difficult my me to accept and move forward. Here in the UK many therapies are group based and I don't believe one type of therapy will work of everyone. If the therapy seems to be working of one client and not for another self doubt sets in for some of the group. PWS live everyday with self doubt, it's belief in their own ability is whats needed. A PWS going through therapy needs to fail many times before control and belief start to happen and the therapist must make the client aware, change is such a long gradual path. Some people find change more difficult than others and I'm probably one that found that the hard way. Regards Richard
