Well, my boyfriend's childhood surely had similarities with yours. The same disappointment from his father and corrections from his mother. No praise, just critics and discontent. He actually told me recently that he started to recover after he was 18 and moved from home. Fortunately he is the eldest of brother. I always felt he wanted to give to our son the love expressed in the way he never received it at home and I respected that. But he doesn't believe in full recovery even in chidldren, he just looks at himself and thinks it will be as in his case: an improvement, but always a hidden burden somewhere in the brain and many marks in the soul. It was a fantastic thing to get to know you, your family, events, decisions, healings, changes. Thank you for all this Richard! If I'm allowed I would recommend you to write a book. It would help so much parents like me I guess...
