Well I wasn't really silent, but I do think it was either accepting fluency or stuttering. For me, RET therapy was very useful. (ABC in English I think). Basically, holding a mirror to my face and showing myself the world wasn't as evil a I thought. Not everyone thinks it's useful for someone who stutters, but my basic problem wasn't in my speech, but in how I perceived others reacting to my speech. After I tackled that, my stutter became less. I still stutter, in time of stress it can be annoying, but it's good for now. Who knows, maybe someday I'll want to do something with it again. When I'm 39 going on 40 :)
