Hi Skye. I'm no expert, only from experience, but I think it's normal that some people develop stuttering and others don't, also based on who they are as a person. My fathers stutters, one of my brothers did, one of my brothers didn't, and than I did as well. I can see the differences in our personalities, and the similarities. There are other criteria as well, but as I said, I'm no expert. Ones personality influences ones development, why would speech not be included in that?
