Maartje Borghuis, you exude such confidence and intelligence that I find it so hard to believe that you struggled as a person who stutters!...I will rephrase that by saying that your writing and personality is inspirational and any college advisor who believed otherwise was a ninny! I'm a graduate student studying to be a speech-language pathologist (done in May whoo!) and I wish I had even an ounce of the courage and confidence you have! I, too, give into the pressures of societal expectations and believing that there is a "road map", essentially, to how our lives should play out, however, I've realized that I don't think my life was made to have a road map. I think it's more exciting that way. My question to you is, as a person who has more than likely received therapy from an SLP in your past, what are some things they did that you did or didn't like? What did they do that helped you the most? What is one thing an SLP did that you'll never forget?
